no other reaction from the raspberry, any1 had this issue?

it started with the Ethernet hub which stopped working, and now it's turned on(can see the green and red leds in the front) but besides that there is no reaction and nothing happened.

    Hi Peter,

couple of days before this issue,my Ethernet hub stopped working... so there was no connection to the internet and i couldn't use it to watch kodi.

i thought it was the cable, so i used a different 1 which worked with my laptop but no luck. i tried to use a different hub in the router but nothing.

yesterday i decided to restore the openelec to the default, but still it didnt help the Ethernet issue.

as last resort i press "shift" when the raspberry pi started so i could reinstall openelec from scratch... it told me that there is no internet connection so it can download more system operations besides raspberian and openelec, but i needed only the openelec 1... few seconds after it started with the installation, an error message appeared and the the connection with my tv got lost.

i didnt changed any hardware or anything... i even burned the latest noobs(from openelec website) on my sd card but nothing...

    i'm out of ideas image

OK, based on this I have rather limiting sugestions

    1. ensure the USB power at the PI is correct (5.0V +- 5% ish)

    2. remove all other accessories except the screen

    3. power the keyboard / mouse / wifi adapter if any using a seperate powered USB hub

    4. ensure the Ethernet cable and the hub port it is connected in works by plugging in an alternate device (I have seen this before, sometimes HUBs can also get confused with MAC addresses for a short while if a device is unplugged and a different one quickly plugged in, this is more with domestic grade ethernet routers than commercial ones but it can happen, so try rebooting the Ethernet hub too

if all this fails then I would tend to agree you may have a fried Ethernet Port, If your sure you have never accidently shorted bits of the PCB while powered on etc and the PI is still in warranty, seek an RMA number to get it replaced

if it is out of warranty then you may need to purchase another one
