Between "available for sale" and "deleted from the site to prevent the system from clogging with orders for the currently unavailable product", there was a period when the site said: "Available for shipment around Christmas".
I'm thinking that indeed a batch has been planned to arrive at that time. Whether or not you will be able to grab one from that batch or if it has already been sold, I cannot tell you.
