Pre-installed Noobs

Today, I received my purchased pre-installed Noobs OS. I get a blank screen when I boot my pi2. I can see the files on the sd card when I insert it nto my PC. Also, I want load a single OS onto a another sd card and safe keep my original copy. Could someone give me some instructions on how I should proceed or what I may be doing wrong. I run Linux OS on my PC. Thanks.

Hello Clem, thank you for link. I try openelec.tv. Maybe this CL will work: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install openelec.

Are you saying you are doing

sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/osmc/xUbuntu_15.10/ /' >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/osmc-installer.list"

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install osmc-installer

and it's not working?

Or you just can't get NOOBS to install?

Have you tried this

if you have not done anything to the NOOBS card you received, you may not have to reformat it, it should already be fat 32
You can just insert it, if the system automatically mounts it, you can just go delete everything off of there and follow the section

Copy to the SD card

also your SD card may not be /dev/mmcblk0

I ran those commands when I was following the download instructions from the "link". It did not work properly. Do I type line 1 as is? I will try it again.

Here are a few tutorials I just posted regarding creating and installing Noobs and Raspbian on a PI, Perhaps it may help folks

Create a BOOT SD Card
Install Raspbian using NOOBS
Config WIFI for Raspbian
Detailed Assembly of the PI 7" LCD
Testing the 7" LCD
Installing Raspbian without NOOBS

I have a bunch of other PI stuff like Node Red etc on my channel too but thats getting off topic, the above is all with the Latest Jessie build Raspbian 1.5.0

Hope it helps, I will be posting them more formally on E14 site very soon
