Today, I received my purchased pre-installed Noobs OS. I get a blank screen when I boot my pi2. I can see the files on the sd card when I insert it nto my PC. Also, I want load a single OS onto a another sd card and safe keep my original copy. Could someone give me some instructions on how I should proceed or what I may be doing wrong. I run Linux OS on my PC. Thanks.

Be sure that this NOOBS was created later than feb 2015 when Raspberry Pi 2 was announced! Otherwise it will not work.

    Hi cwilson56

You'll probably need to go here https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/

and get the latest version to work with the Pi 2.

    Mike

Also go here https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/noobs-setup/ for instructions on how to set it up.

It's really a shame that whoever is selling these preloaded NOOBS cards is not shipping them with current images. The whole point of creating NOOBS was to give new Pi users an easy transition, when you have to download and image an sd card yourself the value added provided by these resellers is effectively 0.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the advice. I have already completed that task (Load latest version NOOBS). My problem is loading loading RaspBMC to NOOBS/Raspbian OS so I can setup a media center on my Pi 2. I am a new Linux user vs Windows OS and understanding the CL language/commands at this point is challenging. My system OS is Ubuntu 15.10. The other issue is formatting SD card with Gparted and copying files to the card per instructions at raspberry.org. Again, thank you. Carl

Mike. I agreed, however, I should have thought of that before I make the purchased.

Hi Mike, can I copy and use the OSs installed on the pre-installed NOOBS card without trying to boot it?

But, you can download the os's individually and install them without noobs. That is the way I've done it in the past.

You are probably aware of https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/
