Desktop and Kodi

Question

Kodi shows the desktop In the background during video playback. This is only on the 7" Touchscreen. All works as it should when using the Pi with the HDMI to a TV.

I have the screen set to 800 x 480. I turned off the screensaver in Kodi. Kodi will play, but the desktop shows around the movie.

I now believe the screen blanking is from the system, not Kodi. The desktop, without Kodi running, will come back with a touch or swipe. It does not work that way with Kodi running.
