For several days, I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to play MIDI files using FluidSynth (http://www.fluidsynth.org/). In general, my intention is to use RPi + Wolfson Pi as a SoundFont-based synth/rompler.
I tried different kernel versions and settings, but all I can get is a brief moment of noise and the following message:
"fluidsynth: error: The audio device error: Input/output error"
Regardless of my system settings, FluidSynth works perfectly with the built-in RPi audio interface. The message only shows when I want to use Wolfson Pi for audio output.
Each time I made sure to run the ./Playback_to_Lineout.sh script, and audio files (.mp3, .flac, wav) are working just fine. Still, I cannot get FluidSynth to work.
Any ideas/suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated.
