Help with testing blood sugar etc.

Question

I am a Type 1 diabetic and am constantly tested my blood sugar levels - what i want is to use my Raspberry Pi2 to get the data via USB from my blood tester and then send via cloud to my smart phone where the data can be presented in graphical form etc.

Any help with this project would be much appreciated.

I was recently diagnosed Type 2 so I did a few searches- I saw one that showed a project where someone had created a RPi-based artificial pancreas that used some kind of cutaneous sensor (I think they still have to be replaced regularly) and a glucometer to trigger an insulin pump, and IIRC, it also alerted an emergency contact if it took a reading and was not acknowledged. Wish I knew the link, but try googling Raspberry pi artificial pancreas and see where that leads you.
