I'm a special education teacher. I have 300 awesome books in MP4 format videos. I'd like to setup a viewing center using KODI installed on Raspberry pi. I've installed Kodi and hooked up a MakeyMakey for push button input.
I need a bone simple input for my kids with special needs. It needs to have an up, down, right, left button, a play button, and a stop button that stops the video and returns to video menu. I've re-mapped the MakeyMakey buttons to cover almost all the buttons I need, but I'm having a problem with coding the a stop button that only returns to video menu. I've figured out how to map a stop, but don't know how to design a button that only returns to the video menu. An escape button easily could get kids lost in Kodi--The stop button must always return to the video menu. How do I design a button that returns only to a specific video menu.
I was inspired to build this project because I saw a dad make a video center for 6 videos. I'd like to make a video center for 300 videos. The project I'm copying is here:
ScottTV - A Simple Media Player For My Autistic Son
If I can design a cheap bone simple video center that can plug into a TV, then many teachers could copy it.
