Wifi Issues on Raspberry Pi 3

Question

Hello Friends - I am a newbie Pi user, purchased my Pi 3 device a few days ago.

I have been having difficulty setting up the wifi on Rasbian Jessie.

When I enter my wep password into the field.

Nothing happens.

Also Please note, when I hover the mouse over the wifi icon - it says "wlan0: not associated".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the limited information you have given, I am not quite sure what the issue is other than it not connecting. A little more detail may help in finding a solution. You can also open up terminal and set the wireless connection up through it. edit (sudo nano) the /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf file. You will need to either edit or add the following lines:

network={ ssid="AP Name" wep_key0="Password"

key_mgmt=NONE #I believe this line is optional }

EDIT: Changed the additional lines for WEP rather than WPA
