Pi Zero USB OTG SSH not working after installing "adafruit-pitft-helper"

My Pi Zero was connecting to my PC via USB OTG and allowed me to connect to the internet through my PC's WiFi, as well as use PuTTY to run terminal commands via my PC.

After installing the drivers for my TFT display, my PC no longer recognizes my Pi.

I used this guide to set up my Pi to PC connection

Then followed this guide to install the screen.

I tried editing config.txt and cmdline.txt to include the "dtoverlay=dwc2" and "modules-load=dwc2,g_ether" respectively, but it didn't fix anything.

Anyone know of a solution to my problem?

    I also have a Pi Zero that I am trying to SSH into via usb connection to my windows Laptop.

     

    However, when plugging it into my laptop windows pops up with an error. "USB Device not recognized".

     

    I DO have Bounjour installed, I am running Windows 10 64 bit, and I'm using the most current version of Raspbain Jessie Lite (kernel 4.4)April 2017 version. And yes It is connected via the Data usb port on the Pi.

     

    I too followed the same guide that the OP used and have been unsuccessful now about 3 times in a row, and have resorted to restarting nd reinstalling Bounjour, QuickTime both on my laptop.

     

    I cannot find any answers online as to what is going on, or any solutions. image

    To JC and pest...1789. Like the both of you two, I also tried the Configurations of various Threads on RaspPi Blogs and on Youtube. None of them worked for me. Until I went through Four OTG Cables DID I found one that worked w/ my RaspPi-Zero.

    To JC and pest...1789. This a continuation of my 12APR17 8:02PM Posting. Connected to the OTG Cable at the USB-A-Female-connector  is a "modified (by me)" USB 3.0 Hub. Modified to be a Powered-Hub, also becomes USB 2.0 (instead of USB 3.0 because 3.0 Wires are too small to solder). AAR this Hub is a: Bidul USB Hub 3.0 w/ Ethernet Adapter. $39.99 (USD) Micro Center SKU 666529, Manf: S-USBHUBRJ453.0 UPC 70623847878. Connected to this Hub are: 1) USB Mouse, 2) USB Keybd, 3) RJ-45-CAT 5 cable to my Router. All three connections Work. Although the Internet is Slow. BTW1 this Bidul Hub was made to connect to Microsoft Surface 3, 4 Tablets, so it can do Double-Duty. BTW2 both JC and pest...1789 Can use their own 2.0/3.0, Powered/Un-powered Hub. Since I haven't bought "real" USB Hub lately, I cannot speak to the cabling you would need to connect such to the OTG Cable. Choose a USB Hub, post the Hub's URL  (here at element14), and I can recommend options. Again, please the include the Country you are residing at. With this knowledge, I can recommend/not-recommend options Based on knowing what country you are residing -in. Help me to Help you.

    To JC and pest...1789. BTW1 the OS I used was Raspian-Jessie-w/Pixel 2016-09-23 kernel 4.4. I would try this RaspPi Zero Set-up w/ Minibian BUT the OS is on a SDcard Not a uSDcard. Maybe I will do this at a later Date. If there is any Interest? "Head-less" Operation is the Way-to-Go w/ the RaspPi-Zero. "Head-less" = NO Monitor, No Keybd, No Mouse. BTW2 I also have a RaspPi-Zero-Wireless, which should make Head-Less operation even Easier.
