I bought two Raspberry Pi 3's. I bought the latest Cirrus Logic sound card that is supposed to be compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3. I installed the sound card. I downloaded the "suggested" images (Raspian I assume) that are supposed to work with the Raspberry Pi 3 and the sound card. I put the image on the SD card (several to test) (Win32DiskImager), installed the SD card, applied power, and... quick flash of colors on the monitor and then it freezes hard. Changed SD cards, changed Raspberry Pi 3s, changed power supplies, changed "suggested" inages... no matter, hard freeze every time. I swapped images - just the plain old Raspian (from Raspberry Pi org) and the Pi works fine. Even boots up with the sound card attached. But as soon as I try with one of the "suggested" Element 14 images... back to hard freeze.
I don't want to be programming fixes... I'm not a software, or Linux person (Windows is a different story though). Is this sound card not ready for the Raspberry Pi 3? Will we see an image anywhere that works? Help will be thanked.
