Raspberry Pi 3 B Installed NOOBS, Raspian Lite, Ubuntu MATE and Windows 10 IoT. Nothing works on the reboot.

Hello everyone,

I have the following problem with my Raspberry Pi 3 B. See photos of the two screens below. When I boot the system from Screen I, I end up getting a blank screen (bottom photo).

Hardware: I checked on the power supply and I switched the outlet and USB plugs. It's not that. I checked on the USB keyboard and mouse, it's working. The ethernet cable/ports are working, no complaints on that. I double-checked for a monitor to VGA male to HDMI female hookup. I'm pretty certain it's not that.

Software: I was on a laptop, Ubuntu 16.04 OS, first. I used 'GParted' with a MicroSD, 16GB, 10. I bought the Raspberry Pi and the MicroSD from element14. I mounted and formatted the MicroSD and I went step by step. Multiple times it failed. I used a desktop, Windows 8.1 OS, next and I tried 'SDFormatter' and it worked for the format/files. Using Raspberry Pi it failed multiple times. Also, I reformatted the MicroSD several times. Nothing helps with my Raspberry Pi.

Any advice for me? I'll appreciate it.

Thank you,

Perhaps the VGA/HDMI adaption only works for certain resolutions, and the monitor can no longer display the signal. This is just a guess, it could be wrong.

Usually I just go with the direct Raspbian download from here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

and follow their Windows instructions and it works fine. But I ensure it is connected to a HDMI display, not via an adapter. There are no other easy ways to check the install process, so it is important to have a known functional (at high res) HDMI display, or a composite display for the initial installation.

I think it would be worth trying with a direct connection to a HDMI display (not via an adapter), even if it is just a temporary test with (say) a HDMI connection on a TV.
