Keurig controlled by wifi

Question

I am new to the raspberry pi, but have programmed in python a little bit. My question is can I create an app on my phone that is an alarm that would contact my raspberry pi that is attached to my keurig and brew a cup of coffee for me? Remember I am new to this raspberry pi thing and I do not even know what concepts to learn yet. Please point me in the right direction.

Known limitations / work in progress

only works for one concurrently connected phone right now
upon reconnection, all historical updates to page elements are made in sequence - should collapse updates to the same element
