can i power my raspberry pi3 from 5v 5A SMPS?

I HAVE 5V 5A SMPS. IS IT SAFE TO APPLY POWER TO RASPBERRY PI 3 THROUGH ITS USB POWER PORT?
CURRENTLY I DONT REQUIRED ANY ACCESSORIES BUT LATER ON I WILL ADD HDMI, USB PENDRIVE AND I WILL USE BLUETOOTH/WIFI AND GPIO.

    Hi Tapan,

    Yes you can, but it is easier to find a mobile phone charger and use that, because it will already have the USB cable or connector for USB on it. You can use any mobile phone charger provided that that it has USB and is at least 1A rated.

    shabaz, I would recommend minimum 2A, given the fact that it is a Pi3 and that tapanmojidra intend squeezing more functionality out of his Pi.

    But you are completely right with the mobile phone charger that is fitted with a USB.
