Raspberry Pi 7" touchscreen display - PLEASE HELP!

I have had this monitor for a few months.

 

When I first got it, I powered it up and connected it to my RPi 2. It worked fine.

 

Since then, I have not used it for a bit. I attempted to power if up this week, and I keep getting this screen in the attached image. I have run through every troubleshoot that I can, have followed the Element 14 directions for connecting the RPi accurately, and run through a series of other troubleshoots. None have worked.

 

Any wisdom or suggestions that can help me get this screen working?

    Are the flat flex cables correctly aligned (i.e. fully squared into the connectors, not even wonky by half a millimetre) and the flex release levers fully closed, at both ends?

    They certainly appear to be aligned right.

     

    I just tried my 4th RPi, and it appears that this one is working. That just makes me want to...well, you know.

     

    Hard for me to believe the other 3 Pi's have a connector issue there, but I guess it is possible. Glad the new ones have HDMI ports.

     

    I appreciate the helpful feedback - nice to know that someone cares enough to take a few minutes to help me brainstorm. I will make sure to pass the generosity forward.

    No problem, thanks for the kind response!

    That's interesting, it does sound odd that three could fail : ( Still, it confirms the display is functional, to narrow down the issue. I'm wondering if it is some marginal power supply issue, e.g. did the other three have anything extra plugged into the USB connectors? I've not measured the current consumption of the display, but maybe that combined with the Pi's power consumption is close to the limit for the supply or USB power cable. This is just a guess though, I don't really have a good reason for it except that other strange things sometimes end up being power related. If you do have an alternate supply and USB cable, that might be worth an attempt just to eliminate it if you haven't already tried this.
