Raspberry Pi 2 or 3 doesn't boot to 1080p

I am working on a new Raspberry Pi project and I need to cover the use of NOOBS. My RPi2 and RPi3 start up in 1080i (interlaced) mode, which is not supported by my 1080p LED display. It displays a warning message and goes to sleep. I have installed Raspbian and have used its config.txt to change the resolution to a supported one, but I need to configure NOOBS to run at 1080p or 720p. Any suggestions?

    Could I nudge you to consider BerryBoot as a starter system for new people? Why, see this:

    To install: extract the contents of the .zip file to a normal (FAT formatted) SD card, and put it in your Raspberry Pi. This can be simply done under Windows without any special image writer software.

    Once you start your Pi it will start an installer that reformats the SD card and downloads the operating systems files from the Internet.

    This avoids a process like WinDiskImager instead using regular zip and expanding SD card.

     

    HDMI CEC support

    When attached to a HDMI TV, you can also use the arrows on your TV remote to select an operating system to boot, instead of using your keyboard or mouse.

    Better HDMI support.And if you want headless install, try Headless installation.This may be a bit more challenging, but once done is worth the effort.
