Hi
I have just purchased a Pi Desktop, Raspberry Pi 3, official Raspberry Pi 2.5A power supply and a Sandisk SDSA5DK-032G 32GB mSata drive. I have followed the instructions in the Pi Desktop user guide to mount the mSata drive, but it is not working.
1. gparted does not see the drive (it only sees the default SD card).
2. "sudo fdisk /dev/sda" returns:
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.
fdisk: cannot open /dev/sda: No such file or directory
You have new mail in /var/mail/pi
"dir /dev | grep sda" returns
fd mmcblk0p2 sda tty28 tty55 vcsa
3. I tried plugging the Pi Desktop USB port for the drive into my laptop and ran Disk Management, which said I had to initialize the disk but gave the error "The device is not ready" when trying to initialize it.
I have no other way to test the drive to see if it is working, but I just bought it and it is brand new. Any help would be much appreciated.
