My Raspberry stopped working suddenly.

I have got a problem yesterday. I was working on a project with my raspberry pi 2.

suddenly I lost connection to my pi. I restarted it several times now it's not coming back on.

symptoms: Red pwr led and green led are lit always. green led is not blinking as if said before. I tried by connecting through the HDMI port. it shows a blank black screen only. I also tried by removing sd card (without card), same symptoms persist. I think I have a problem with the sd card slot, as the card is working with my PC. I formatted the card and tried with a fresh sd card. the same problem persists.

can anyone help me in rectifying this problem? is there any kinda fix to this problem.

Some people report that the SD card or contacts bend so that there no longer is a connection. You should see more reaction on the screen if you press the SD card more towards the board. Try to see if you can get more response from the pi that way, and if so, you need to look for a more permanent solution than to use your fingers...

The fact that the ACT green LED light stays solid it is a strong indicator of a SD card problem. Although it could be due to a physical problem with the SD card reader slot, I'm more incline to think the problem somehow lies with the SD card itself, as they are more prone to failures than the RPi hardware itself. The fact that you can read the SD card from your PC doesn't necessarily mean that the card itself is not been corrupted somehow. There is a good post on booting problems with the RPi/2/3 here, perhaps it might be helpful to at least get more pointers to a solution.

yes, I was doing a hardware ralated one. Reading data from rfid reader.

thanks for ur reply. gone through that tutorial. think the pin may have bend.

I have tried with other sd cards as well. I am using Rasbisn Jessie os. use win32diskimager tool. it is not working.

no it was working. my python script was working fine in reading rfid details and saving to my database.

it stopped working abruptly while i was working with a front end (a django website to view the data stored in database.)

Hi Vivek,

Have you found any solution to this issue and identified the root cause of the issue? I am facing same issue with Pi 4. I am suspecting it has to do something with power issue or some kind of short circuit due to charger issue and usb peripheral component issue... I have bought a new Pi 4 and was going with the same charger and USB mouse, keyboard setup and ran well for 3/4 days then suddenly the new board is not booting up any more and exactly same issue is happening. Green ACT and Red Power LEDs are on constantly with or without SD card. SD card should not be the issue here. Curious to know if you have found the solution to your problem..
