Powering Adafriut Anemometer with Rasp Pi 3

Hi all.

I'm trying to build a weather pi station and I have Adafruit's Anemometer which needs 7-24 VDC to work which of course the max the Raspberry Pi does is 5 VDC.

Since my EE background isn't that great I was wondering what would be the best thing to do to power the anemometer off of the Pi in terms of Step up (or step-down) transformers

Aaron,

You could use a simple DC to DC convertor, that would accept a 5V input and produce a 9v output (listed as acceptable on the Adafruit website).
