thesis project

Question

Hi everyone, i'm in my fifth year industrial science, and next year I need to accomplish a thesis project. At the end of this year I need to find an interesting project, something that has to do with fysics, math, mechanics and electronics. of course its almost impossible to have a project that has to do with all of those subjects so you can leave some out. Has anyone some bright ideas? I've been looking but I have not found what I need yet.

Hi Simon, Build a weather station. You get electronics, math, science and mechanics all in one shot. They are easy to design, construct and analyzing the data can be loads of fun. Just think about all of the data analysis and AI algorithms you can play with. DAB

Create yourself a relay computer.. That covers three aspects.. maths - computer language electronics - self explanitory mechanics - relays are mechanical just a thought

Hello simon.ganne , How about an Automatic Solar Tracker System . This is a project where a solar panel tracks the sun light to get the most power possible at any given time (of course, except at night). There are few different ways to implement it, but I say your best bet for a thesis is to use GPS to get an accurate position of the sun any time of the year and at any location. There is a clever way to do it with 4-photoresistors but I think this wouldn't use as much Physics/Math as the GPS way of doing it. Luis
