Do you enjoy Sonic Pi?  Got a favorite track? share it below.

I won't lie I didn't really get into Sonic Pi for some time.  I looked at it a bit but never really dove into it.  Lately tho I have been having a ton of fun tinkering and playing around with it.

Its one of those gems on the Pi I think gets overlooked and never really see much conversation on it. Even on their site it gets pretty dry at times.

Whats your thoughts on sonic pi? let me know below.

    Hi Wesley,

I've not used it, but I can imagine it will be fun!

As a kid, since my home computer didn't have great graphics (and the screen was monochrome) I used to find sheet music at the local library, and convert them into tones for the computer to play out.. (no idea if the output was anywhere near the actual intention of the composer image

So basically folk music, and classical music, since that was all the library had.. I still remember that's how I first heard The Irish Washerwoman, and some Mozart..

Actually now you mention Sonic Pi, I wonder if a modernized version of the sheet music thing would be a fun game for kids... give them a popular tune they should have heard of, but without the title, and see how it comes out when they program it : ) And see if they recognise it : ) Like a musical version of Chinese Whispers.

Another cool thing which kids would love is the Simon game (with 4 LEDs). There a version here, although it's deviated slightly from the original's four lights: http://www.makerspace-uk.co.uk/pymon-a-simon-clone-for-the-raspberry-pi/  The game needs sounds so probably Sonic Pi would be a useful for that.

might be a interesting concept and since most kids relate to music or robots or cartoons might be a interesting game.  so like a simon guitar hero type concept lol if I am picturing it correctly in my head.
