Any idea whether there are any plans to introduce a Pi4 Desktop version?  If so, when will it be available?

image Sorry the only thing I know is to build your own, until they decide to build it (maybe).

Introducing a revolutionary set of accessories help you to convert Raspberry Pi 2/3 into a real computer. It includes an add-on board, plugs into the 40-pin I/O connector of Pi, and helps to connect a high capacity external Solid State Drive (SSD) via mSATA interface for extended memory, up to 1TB. It also offers a Real Time Clock to keep track of time and intelligent power management controller with a power button enables the Pi to be turned On or Off or Reboot without unplugging the USB power cable – allows to handle the Pi safely. The kit also comes with a stylish case allows to conceal everything within the enclosure to keep things tidy. All together this kit helps you to convert you Pi (sold separately) into a full PC with WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Real Time Clock, Camera and SSD (sold separately). Connect the new Pi Desktop to a display through HDMI interface and enjoy the real PC experience.

    • Intelligent and Safe Power Controller with On/Off and Reboot Button.
    • Interface to connect mSATA SSD (upto 1TB)
    • Real Time Clock to keep track of time
    • Stylish Enclosure

    Items in kit:

    • Add-On board
    • Heat sink
    • USB Adapter (Micro-Type A)
    • Long Spacer (x4)
    • Short standoff (x4)
    • Screws (x2)
    • Enclosure (Base and Lid)
    • Button cell, CR2032

Looking at the list above, You could purchase most of this looking around a bit. The diagram below shows pins used on that board. But the new RPI4 does not yet allow booting from the SSD. So if this is required, waiting is the only answer.

Nice, but IMHO nothing special. Just all the pieces that you can buy to put around the Pi4. More aesthetic approach than really technical.
