Idea's for Useful Projects to do with Raspberry Pi 1 B+

Hi,

 

I have all the Raspberry Pi's 1st Gen to 3rd Gen. I'm curious as to get some useful ideas as to what I can use my 1st Gen Pi for. Any suggestions?

    Hi James,

     

    You could use it for using any old composite video displays you might have around.

    You could also use it to stream audio.

    I put my Pi 1 model B to use as a wireless print server in my house.  The best part about it is that it lets me print wirelessly from my iPad to my network laser printer.  The Pi 1 obviously isn't wireless, it has a wired ethernet cable that puts it on my home network, my router takes care of the wireless part.   The important step is installing CUPS and avahi.  I'm amazed at how many different printers CUPS supports. The speed of printing is good, even with the old raspberry pi.
