Smartedge IIOT Gateway ATTiny use

I was looking at Smartedge IIOT Gateway programmer's reference manual and it talks about an ATTiny.

Looking at the PCB, I was able to find an ATTiny88 (U49) close to the watchdog enable jumper (J33).

 

I guess that this ATTiny handles the watchdog, but I'm not sure. There is any manual that explains about this?

Is this ATTiny upgradable? How to upgrade it? There is any source code available?
