Hi,
I have a Samsung LTN173kt01 Laptop screen from an old laptop, I took it out of my laptop and wish to use it for my raspberry pi. There is nothing wrong with it so i thought that I maybe able to use it, but I don't know much about how to connect it to my raspberry... It has some strange pins that I have not seen, and I would like some help figuring out how to get it to work with my raspberry.
I also have the datasheet attached in a PDF if that is any help.

I found a kit on e-bay which allowed me to hook up my old 17.1 inch HP Pavillion laptop screen to my Pi or what ever else I wanted to plug into it. e-qstore on eBay I sent them a message with the model of my screen and they did some prep to verify their kit would work before even sending it out. Did the recommended tests to verify ground was good plugged it in ( I also purchased the power supply for the driver board from them) and it worked great. Still need to build a custom enclosure for it. I have a picture of it on my blog. HP LCD screen comes back to life.
Just a different option 
I was kinda in the same boat but after thinking about it I realized that the driver for the LVDS was part of the laptop mainboard and integrated with it. I just happen to come across the kit on e-bay when I was looking to see what kinds of screens I could use with the Pi. So far that option was the cheapest I found. I may do it again when the other laptop finally gives up the ghost
