Raspberry Pi portable screen issues

Hello, raspberrypiuser1234 here.

I Have a question about my screen. I recently ordered a 7" screen for my rasp-pi

(7 inch TFT Color LCD Car Rear View Camera Monitor Support Rotating The Screen and 2 AV Inputs

. To my surprise, the power cables were bare wires. I have tried attaching it to a 12v 1A ps, but no luck. What Am I doing wrong?

First things first - does the monitor power up? If it isn't clear which wire is positive, I would connect it via a bridge rectifier so you won't blow the monitor up!

If one of the wires has a white strip on it this will probably (but not guaranteed) be the positive connection.

You might want to check with Amazon they haven't sent you a customer return by mistake, I would expect this to arrive with a plug as shown in the photo.
