Part No. for RPi GPIO passthrough header

Pencoys
Pencoys over 11 years ago

Ok, I've spent hours trying to locate the header for connecting a 'proto-board'

with 'pass-through' to the RPi GPIO ( in otherwords piggy-backing or stacking

boards onto the GPIO). And also the other headers for RPi 'pass-through'.

I would have thought that someone at Farnell / element14 would have researched

this and published a list of suitable connectors for 'most common' situations.

So, _IF_ anyone at element14 / Farnell is reading this..

How about it.

I've given up with the search of Farnell and going to 'import fron Sparkfun,

much against my wish.

cheers Pencoys

In the true sense of soldering onto a proto-board, there's nothing stopping you from making up your own out of header socket/pins, then just removing tracks/soldering wires as required ? Or am I misunderstanding you ?

Not sure if Newark has a part number but what you are looking for is "Stacking Header for Raspberry Pi - 2x13 Extra Tall" I found them on ebay and Adafruit.com

They are available on the AUS/NZ website as Part number #2296136 (which generally works across the other sites).

As you can see they are from Adafruit http://www.adafruit.com/products/1112

I sympathize with your search problems, sometimes I know its there and still can't find it.

Yes, thats 'em. Farnell must have them, or something similar. But I'm damned if I can find 'em.

So, sadly, I've just bought from that Raspberry man, good luck to him.

Next time you're on the purchasing website, type 2296136 in and see if they come up.

The search system is not great, and is case sensitive.

It really needs improving for customers to be able to quickly and easily find the products they want.

I want another version of the pass through (stacking) connector...

I just bought a "justboom" hat for the pi-zero (hi-fi audio stereo), which has a female pass through connector...

used with extra tall header pins, you could put 2 or 3 hats on a pi...

I've tried various searches on google/ebay/adafruit/element14/arrow/etc...  with no luck...

    william...
