Problems with Omxplayer and HDMI

I have been running, what is effectively, a video player based on a RaspPi running omxplayer, for nearly 10 months, for a heritage railway museum. This uses a VGA monitor and HDMI to VGA convertor. I am now trying to do the same but this time using a BenQ HDMI monitor. The video plays once and then does not play again, however the loop continues? If I call omxplayer directly from a shell then the same response is seen, i.e. it plays once?

Has anyone else had any similar problems or advice, please.

I have found a solution! The only difference I could think of was that the later version used the NOOBS SD card, so I programmed up a new card with wheezy raspbian. When running raspi-config I remembered to assign more memory to the GPU (256 as against 64) and hey presto all worked OK. I then went back to the NOOBS SD card and increased the GPU memory, and all worked OK. What I cannot figure out now is why it worked with a VGA monitor?
