missing cmdline.txt(use laptop's keyboard and display for Raspberry Pi)

Hello,

I want to use my laptop as display and its keyboard to access my Raspberry Pi based on the directions from here: Use your desktop or laptop screen and keyboard with your Pi | Raspberry Pi

However, I don't have 'cmdline.txt' on my SD Card and I think that's because I installed from NOOBS.

How could I possibly use my laptop's keyboard and display for the Raspberry Pi.

Thanks in advance!!

You might be better served getting a vncserver on your raspi and working from there. titghvnc is available for the pi and there are numerous vnc clients available for the windows operating system.

There are several threads in this forum that cover the topic, and I'm sure a google search will uncover more.

    Mike

hi there if for what ever reason you have no "cmdline.txt" then I suggest you copy the lines given here into a file called /boot/cmdline.txt on your RPI.

    • dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0
    • console=ttyAMA0,115200
    • kgdboc=ttyAMA0,115200
    • console=tty1
    • root=/dev/mmcblk0p2
    • rootfstype=ext4
    • elevator=deadline
    • rootwait

I believe the documentation you link to in fact discusses the setting up of SSH/VNC.

If you do not already have a SSH/Xserver on your Windows laptop then I would  suggest using VNC as per Mike's suggestion.
