Hello, I am new to the pi and also new to Linux and Python. I purchased all of my components that I figured I would ever need up front. The components I have are:
1. Raspberry Pi B revision
2. PiRack
3. Gertboard
4. PiFace CAD
5. PiCobbler
6. PiFace Digital
7. Pi Camera
8. USB Hub with Wifi dongle, keyboard and mouse attached
9. Raspberry Pi power supply
What I am having an issue with is th PiRack allowing all of the devices to interface. Not all at once, but say I want to run a test on the Gertboard, when I am done with that test, I then want to run a test on the PiFace CAD, and lastly, when done with that test, I want to run the PiFace Digital Emulator. The PiRack is only picking up/recognizing the Gertboard and I cannot understand why.
Prior to purchasing the Gert, the rack would interface fully with the CAD and Digtal and I could run a test on one and then the other. I tried setting the jumpers, but as stated, I am completely green. I want to learn this, but I honestly have racked my brain trying to figure out if there is script that needs to be written in Python, or what needs to be done.
I also want to have the option to run these items once the machine is turned on, just sending the test to whichever device respectively. I would appreciate any help as I am trying to learn this and am only a month in.
I also, would love to run a fan on my little setup that comes on when the pi is powered on. I have a ProtoRack, so it can fit a 200mm fan, I just am not sure how to do all that I wish to do.
I suppose this is my first real project and I don't have a clue where to begin. I am thinking to get everything being recognized and then communication would be the primary step. Then, work on the fan for cooling the whole system..
I have enabled the SPI in raspi-config; and tried to sudo update and install to no avail either. I have tried uninstalling the PiFace CAD software and reinstalling as a test, but it's a no go. I am actually confused and really need help and explination of what I am doing wrong.
If anyone could possibly help, I would be most appreciative..
I also am not sure whether I am in need of a power supply for the PiRack and am wondering if this will solve the problem
