As I look at the schematic for the sound card it looks like you have provided a pass-through header (J8) for the serial pins of the GPIO (pin 8 (TxD) & pin 10, (RxD)).
Is that correct?
If I install your sound care will I still be able to use the serial (RS-232) function of the Raspberry Pi?

Yes, that's correct. I'm using a serial console connected to the Wolfson sound card.

I've not used them for serial but they function perfectly with LEDs and switches...
While on the topic of usable pins what about the bottom right pin of Ex_Connection (next to the DMIC in the pic) as P1 pin 22? My multimeter says they're connected but I didn't notice it when going through the schematic looking for available GPIOs. My Pi SD socket is broken so I can't check
