Raspberry Pi Fingerptint Scanner

Hello,

I am a newbie to Raspberry Pi. I am planning to interface Fingerprint scanner with RPI. Need experts suggestion on which is the best Fingerprint supported byu RPI or If you already worked onthis could you share your experience.

I haven't worked on something like this before, but my first thoughts are either the fingerprint scanner provided by Adafruit ( Fingerprint sensor ID: 751 - $49.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits ) but you will have to work out how it communicates over serial (looks like to USB if you want it do) and translate the chinese manual (the Arduino library that Adafruit have made should point you in the right direction as well). Or you go a bit more hardcore with a devkit, such as the one provided by Texas Instrumentsprovided by Texas Instruments ( TMDXBDKFP5515 - TEXAS INSTRUMENTS - TMS320C5515, SENSOR, DEVELOPMENT | Farnell UK ).
