I have tried Raspbmc and Openelec (all available builds). It seems there is no distribution that supports this sound card. I've tried a number of different approaches (including trying to recompile a kernel with the driver software, which exceeded the 8Gb available on the SD-card and hence blew that option). I am stating this as a contention: please prove me wrong:
It is impossible to use the Wolfson sound card with XBMC.
