Broken SD Card Socket

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

My Raspberry Pi B has an SD card socket that is broken and no longer holds the SD card securely. Where can I get a replacement? Or, the manufacturer's part number?  I see several of them, but there are no pictures so I can't match it up.

    Hi Gene,

I don't think there is a bill-of-materials released by the raspberry pi foundation (RPF) - I could be wrong.

So, it may be hard finding an exact replacement. You can see some people did have success with approximate replacements here.

Others tried glue to keep it together.

There are SD card socket photos and data sheets here, if you are willing to measure your existing socket and compare. The data sheets will have the measurements.

Here is my solution. Not elegant, but cheap and effective.

You could use the approach proposed in this article. I did and it worked!
