new PI and just getting started and can't get anything to boot
Are you able to provide with a little more detail?
Are there any LEDs lit on the Pi?
Hello coppermask57,
Welcome to the element14 Community, we hope you enjoy it! I will move this over to the Raspberry Pi area as it is a better fit.
Thank you,
Jamie
Yes LED are on, I have a hdmi to hdmi clabe is this the issue? I download the NOOBS software and the win32diskimage and the sd format I use a 8gb sd
I suggest looking at the RasPi Troubleshooting Wiki: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Power_.2F_Start-up
Is the microSD card a class10? The Raspberry Pi B+ requires this class of card

Thats strange because mine works quite happily on a Class 4.

When you say there is LED on is there a Red and Green (Flashing) LED or just Red?
If only Red you could try checking the SD card is correctly seated. If you have both then it sounds like the RPi is working but there may be an issue with displaying the signal from the RPi

Thanks for makeing me recheak things out had bad download
Corwin, this seems to happen quite a lot so it's best always to check be this an ISO file for a CD/DVD or a SDCARD .img file
Under Linux you can use md5sum or sha1sum to check the MD5 or SHA1 sums when specified. For Windows I found this which is interesting
