Firmware won't download

fvan

Is anyone else experiencing the fact that downloading the firmware for the new Cirrus Logic audio card doesn't work ?

The download starts but doesn't progress at all. The download time just keeps increasing, from 1h to 2h, to ... 21h, never to finish.

Meaning the card can't be used ...

    It downloaded OK for me.

I've put it on my Google Drive, maybe that works better for you.

    Hello,

I'm raising this with the dev' team just to check - I had some problems downloading the file myself and I was forced to use a download accelerator (still relevant even far away from the dial up days).

    Thanks Christopher!

Looking a bit further, it looks like the download is so slow, it seems like it's not progressing.

Leaving it to download overnight might do the trick, but it shouldn't be like that.

Typical tech' support says "it's fine for me" so it could be a problem between you and the server somewhere on a network hop.

I suggest using getright, and once it starts downloading you use its 'segmented download' functionality to split it into 4 segments. It'll also help to resume the download gracefully (something which I feel Firefox/ Chrome and other browsers still can't handle).

Downloading from Ragnar's google drive is also a solid solution.

Yes, it's slow because the connection to the download server where the files are hosted are speed throttled per connection to it. At something ridiculously low for the file sizes that it dishes out.

Leaving the thing to download overnight did the trick ... But man, that was horribly slow!
