And while we are at it, where is a full schematic for the Raspberry Pi B+
Hello,
You're not going to like this answer.
It's up to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, not element14.
All of the Raspberry Pi models, aside from the The specified item was not found. are intended as prototyping platforms, not end solutions. This is probably why there isn't a schematic readily available. The thinking behind it is, why would you need one unless you're trying to create one? and if you're trying to create one - then you can use the compute to embed into your project.
Ultimately, this is out of our hands, we don't have a timeline, deadline or decision for this. Only the Pi Foundation does.
The Compute Module's worth a look though.
Sorry.
The complete schematics for the original Raspberry Pi model B were published and are still available AFAIK. There is a 1 sheet addendum to the original schematics for the B+
which shows most, but not all of the differences between the B and the B+. The missing schematics for the B+ are for the new USB IC and the USB interface and connectors
circuits. Why a full set of schematics for the B+ haven't been published yet is an ongoing mystery, and one that I have grown tired of.
Schematics are needed any time there is a suspected hardware problem. The problem may have to do with the Pi itself, when an add on board is connected to the GPIO header,
or even when a simple prototype circuit of some sort is connected to the GPIO header. You can't really "create" one if you wanted to because, at least at this time you can't get
get a BM2835 SoC chip. The last company that tried to do so finally had to give up and just designed a better alternative (ODROID-C1).
They had no problem publishing the original schematics, there is really nothing for them to gain, and a lot of good will to loose by not publishing the schematics to ALL Raspberry
Pi models. They have no reason not to.
I have registered my concerns about this with the Raspberry Pi Foundation and have been ignored. And while the final decision rests with the Foundation, if enough people complain
directly to them and here on these forums (element 14 does sell them and has a direct link to the Foundation about customers and their concerns) maybe they can be convinced to
do the right thing.
The full schematic was published and then disappeared into the ether, but it seems to be available again.
There is a link here but the reality is that its the B+ not ver 2

The original seems to be here
http://www.raspberrypi.org/model-b-schematics/
perhaps element14 could link to these rather than just the reduced set they have.

"The full schematic was published and then disappeared into the ether, but it seems to be available again."
I'm not sure whether they disappeared or just became a "buried link" and real hard to find. Pretty much six of one, half a dozen of another.
"There is a link here but the reality is that its the B+ not ver 2"
No those are definitely the B rev. 2 schematics not the B+. The most obvious differences are the B+ has a 40 pin GPIO connector, uses
a LAN9514 IC for the Ethernet interface and USB hub, and has 4 USB ports. The B Rev. 2 has a 26 pin GPIO header with an additional
8 pin GPIO header, uses a LAN9512 IC, and has only two USB ports.
Perhaps Christopher could also convey a request to release the schematics for all Pi revisions while he is at it. Thanks.
Gary
Thanks for clarifying ... to be honest I never counted the GPIO pins ...
So we now have a B, B ver 2, B+, B ver2 (which is a B+ Ver2 1GB)
Pity the naming of versions couldn't have been sorted ...
