Programming raspberry pi with c#(MONO)

HI,

i am developing a gesture based project on raspberry pi on c# language.

I have successfully developed my code on windows Microsoft visual studio c# 2010, but while compiling my program on raspberry pi i am getting various problems

1)first of all the dll files are not accepted by raspberry pi.

2)the GUI interface of mono is not giving me accurate result

3) is there any way to interface camera module as the web cam of laptop...

please help me as i do not understand what to do....

Some background would help. What O/S are you running on raspberry pi? Are you running wine since you mentioned DLL's? The camera module for Pi is nor documented and so would be hard to make work with a laptop.A USB webcam can work on the raspberry pi.

Thanks for the quick reply really appreciate it.
i am running Raspbian on raspberry pi.
and i an not running wine..
actually mono is not supporting the dll files used in windows platform

The DLL's were compiled under 386 architecture and so you must find equivalent ones for ARM instead. BTW, that website is old but still relevant.

Here is a website that they created a complete application on Windows and moved pieces to Mono on Raspberry Pi => http://rocksolid.gibraltarsoftware.com/development/using-c-and-vistadb-on-the-raspberry-pi
In it you will see "Then compile the code with the gmcs compiler, remembering to add a reference to the VistaDB DLL…" I believe that will setup the DLL through the gmcs compile for ARM.

I think this must go for any write once execute anywhere platform. They may sell that this is so but the moment you include native libraries either knowingly or not then your application is effectively locked to that platform unless you can find equivalent on the target of choice
