How do you use a .dmg file to make a bootable sd card for Raspberry Pi B+?

Hi. I have a raspberry pi B+ and i have .dmg files fo my backups and would like to restore them to my sd card. I have tryed to re-flash my sd card but it comes out blank and un formatted. Please help me, (I do have a e-mail if you want me to send you a message back). Thanks in advance.

what if you convert the .dmg file and then place them on the SD card?

DMGs are Apple MAC files, I assume you used a mac to perform the backup of the SD card, you will need to use a MAC to put it back, on windows you use "DiskImager" and it has the ability to read and write directly on the UI

I dont know what program you used to create the DMG file but I would expect the same one would be able to re-write it
