A simple design like LED's could use either. But Raspberry Pi easier to program and Arduino better for realtime motors and things.

Dimitrios would you still recommend arduino when the need is to connect via bluetooth from smartphone droid / iOS?
Where is that requirement for Bluetooth coming from?
Yes, adafruit have plenty of those for their wearable projects with FLORA, GEMMA & Trinket. Here's an example https://www.adafruit.com/products/2487
Casey has a project that is similar but needs bluetooth connection.

Sorry. I hijacked the thread w/ a question about blue tooth for a separate project, that doesn't have wearables. Then after further research failed, I decided to start a thread for my whole project out for feedback instead of piecing it together through different existing threads.
Both Bords are good but according to your requirement Raspberry Pi would be best.
Could you argument why also ?
