24v COB rgb 840 strip controled by Raspberry Pi

I am having a hard time figuring out the solution to controlling my 24v strip with my Pi 4. I have a 4 pin strip with R. B. G. Bk wires.  I think a N-channel MOSFETs transistor will fix the communication issue and allow control of the colors. most Ara fruit software I have seen is for addressable Leds with only 3 leads. R. Bk. and Green.  Am I on the right track with using the transistors. If so Why? is there an easier way? I am making a bay blade stadium for my son and want to incorporate buttons with lights and sound..

looking at your low points total  you are new to the E14 community. Welcome.

There are a few details that need clarification in order to drill down to a possible solution. I'm not sure of your experience level so forgive me if my explanation is to simplistic. The Pi's GPIO  output is 3.3 volts. Unless your output device is designed for this logic level you will need to level shift to another voltage.

A properly designed transistor solution might work but you need to be careful of voltages applied to GPIO pins. You can cause them to not work, depending on your configuration.

LED strips come in a number of flavours. Some are addressable and others are just standard LED. Some LED might require limiting resistors to prevent them from burning out. The addressable LED strips typically require some protocol to talk to them.

Can you provide the details on the LED strip. Do you have a model number, specification sheet or just the link you used to purchase them. This community has a wealth of experience. Given the appropriate details the help you seek is still possible. Sharing what you are trying to accomplish might get you a solution you never thought of. I suspect many here have played with LED strips.

Do you think I will need to use additional resistors between the mosfets and Pi to prevent damage?
