Hello Raspberry Pi Community!

We’re excited to share an amazing opportunity with you. Red Pitaya, a versatile open-source tool that complements Raspberry Pi by replacing many expensive lab instruments, is hosting a Reddit contest this July and August!

Red Pitaya enhances DIY electronics projects by offering powerful measurement and control capabilities. If you love working with Raspberry Pi, you’ll find Red Pitaya to be a fantastic addition to your toolkit.

The contest runs from July 6, 2024, to August 31, 2024. To participate, create an innovative project using Red Pitaya and share a photo and description on Reddit with the tag [RedPitayaRedditContestJulyAug]. You can also link to a GitHub repository to share more details.

Announcing the Red Pitaya Reddit Contest for July and August! Star2[RedPitayaRedditContestJulyAug] : u/redpitaya1

Prizes include a Click Shield for the first place, and MikroE Click Boards for the second and third places. The winner will be chosen based on the most Up Votes, so make your post engaging!

Whether you're measuring signals, controlling devices, or experimenting with new ideas, Red Pitaya and Raspberry Pi together can take your projects to the next level. For support, check out the Red Pitaya forums or user guides.

We can’t wait to see your creative projects. Good luck, and happy building!

It's not exactly an earth shaking proposition:

    • Buy a product for about £300 (minimum).
    • Put a lot of work into a project.
    • Enter a competition with a first prize value of £72

    Have I missed something ?

That is usually how these things work.

They are looking for free engineering apps.

I do not think so. My opinion is, that they target existing users while Element14/hackster contests usualy target new users. Purpose of this contest is that they want existing user to write publicly about their projects.

Crazy thing is that for a decade-old product, there doesn't seem to be any decent reviews (at least, not ones where the author did more than just a trivial review).

I think their existing customers are not the sort to write a review perhaps : ( maybe if they publish a project, it might be brief too..

Maybe I'm not the target customer, but no way would I purchase based on the strength of the current reviews (and it's not low-cost enough to take a gamble).
