Issue setting up Wi-Fi on Raspberry Pi Model B+ at University

Hello everyone,

I recently got a Raspberry Pi Model B+ with a Vilros Wi-Fi adapter and wireless keyboard, but I’m having trouble connecting it to eduroam. On boot, the network shows greyed-out text with a prohibition symbol and two grey boxes. The Pi connects to guest Wi-Fi without any issues, so I’m not sure what the problem is.
If I can’t get it working, I may need an alternative way to access reliable Wi-Fi, but my budget is limited. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Which model Pi is it? PI B+ or Pi 3 B+? What's the reason you're using an external WiFi adapter, does your Pi not contain integrated WiFi?

There's not enough information to know why your Pi connects to one network (guest) and not another, but you could check with the IT staff at your uni, in case they can assist.

You could simply continue to use it on the guest network, is there any reason such an old Pi needs to connect to another network?

Probably needs some extra configuration to set it up for WPA2 Enterprise authentication.
