Looking for ideas: cheap but awesome project ideas

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in my final year at university and I’m required to design and build a project for my final-year submission. I’m really excited about this because I want to create something meaningful and technically solid.

The challenge I’m facing is budget I can’t afford expensive components or complex lab equipment. Because of that, I’m looking for ideas on how to build something that is low-cost but still innovative and impressive from an engineering point of view.

Hi,

If budget is the only hurdle you are facing is not actually that much when at university and doing final year project.

But you could do something in TinyML space. That is quite growing at the moment. For example, you can take some development kit with SoC and sensors, camera, etc and work on project that involves Tinyml use cases or sensor interfaces such as I3C, I2S, Q/SPI, etc. That will improve your skills in this area and also make you more job ready.

Of course you should try to use some Lab equipment from your university, at least that much you deserve as a student in their university.
