Ubuntu Server for RPi

Devcom5155
Devcom5155 23 days ago

I am trying to set up an Ubuntu Server on a Pi3 for a home file server.

Every time I install or update, something fails, generally the source becomes or is unavailable.

This then breaks my Server install and I have to reinstall, resulting in another 1.3GB download.

Is there a way of getting the iso downloaded to be reused for each reinstall?

Can you explain in more detail what the actual error is, or what "the source becomes or is unavailable" means? What are you doing exactly, what are you trying to achieve, what is breaking, with what exact error message(s), etc?

If you have a router then you can attach a pendrive to it and set up a ftp server without RPI, But RPI is best if you want to look like Iron Man

I am using Imager, but every time an update fails and corrupts the installation, Imager downloads another 1.3GB.  If I had the ISO, I could reinstall without another download.

I provided the link to the image download in my comment above.

Also once creating the SD card, you could always make your own local image of it before using it.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I have spare External drives which I want to use.  To use a pendrive, I would have to purchase one.

Thank you, I will record the errors next time they occur and respond again.

Thank you, I did follow the link but do not find the ISO I am wanting.  It has the server ISO for PC's etc, but it is not the Pi ISO.

I see now that the Server Download is for the Pi, I did not click on them.
