There are alot of threads and youtube videos on how to get the best performance out of the Pi 3, This is mine.

    Maybe I missed it, but where did you find the black heatsink at?

    It is custom made for me. I have two of them. The dimensions for it is in the linked resource page. You can have it custom made for like $5 at sites that build custom heatsinks. Google it.

    Since this is performance-related content, I would suggest that folks avoid installing the Chromium browser.  The RPi3 boards only have 1GB DDR2 RAM and are prone to swapping with a lot of processes running.  And, you will be swapping to a very slow disk (MicroSD).

    I disagree. let people install/use Chromium, and judge the merits of the browser themselves is my suggestion.

    Rarely had any issues myself with that, unless I open many Chromium tabs/pages at once (like 6 or more). I allocate 192 MB for GPU (gpu_mem=192), which usually leaves plenty for everything else.

    In any event, Chromium v50 just released for the pi3 today, and it has a smaller resource footprint than v48/v49 did, and I can actually do full screen youtube now without choppy playback/stuttering, and I was also able to do 720p res in normal mode (barely). I do not use rpi-youtube in OMXplayer.

    Chromium is by far the best browser for the Pi3 IMO, and give the best web browser performance. The default Epiphany browser is atrocious (when it isn't constantly crashing/force closing), and the others (iceweasel, dillo, etc), are not even in the same ballpark as Chrome/Chromium.

    Install Chromium Browser

    wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/3p6n0s750r9mw9v/chromium-browser-l10n_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_all.deb?dl=0

    wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/25ktoci2s8427yo/chromium-browser_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_armhf.deb?dl=0

    wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/dqe8sercjo5fxyv/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_armhf.deb?dl=0

    sudo dpkg -i chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_armhf.deb?dl=0

    sudo dpkg -i chromium-browser-l10n_48.0.2564.82-0ubuntu0.15.04.1.1193_all.deb?dl=0

    wget -qO - http://bintray.com/user/downloadSubjectPublicKey?username=bintray | sudo apt-key add -

    echo "deb http://dl.bintray.com/kusti8/chromium-rpi jessie main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list

    Update Chromium Browser to newest version (3 options)

    option 1: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get --only-upgrade install chromium-browser chromium-browser-l10n chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

    option 2: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install chromium-browser

    *option 3: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

    * option 3 will update/upgrade everything, including chromium browser.

    How to set Chromium Browser (or any other browser) as the system default browser

    sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser

    You can remove the unused relics dillo browser & netsurf browser

    sudo apt-get purge dillo

    sudo apt-get purge netsurf-gtk

    sudo apt-get autoremove

    You can also remove Epiphany browser if you want

    sudo apt-get purge epiphany-browser

    sudo apt-get autoremove
