Hi,
I think everything is in the title... I can get audio work well as user "pi", but can't figure out why "root" stays mute. Can anybody help me ?
I set the audio card by following instructions on page
RPi Linux driver for Wolfson / Cirrus Logic Audio Card
Then a compiled the recommended kernel with real-time capacity. I doubt it can be the reason, but maybe ...
uname -a :
Linux cirpi 4.4.14-v7+ #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Aug 26 11:59:19 CEST 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux
I also copied /home/pi/.asoundrc to /root/ but it did not make any differences.
By the way, I bought this audio card for its audio quality specifications, and to get a latency as low as possible. I didn't notice the amazing capabilities provided by the onboard DSP (maybe I should have read more documents...) For moderators reading this message : the fact that audio paths can be configured to go from any input to any output passing throut multiple and optional processings (noise reduction, equalizers, ...) is an important feature. Write it on main pages !
