I am new to Raspberry pi, I purchased Raspberry pi 3 Model B yesterday, i made connections(Mouse, keybord, MicroSD memory card, HDMI cable to my TV set, 5V 2A mobile charger as a power source).

After i power on the device only red led glows, nothing appears on TV set.

Please suggest.

Have you tried flashing the SD card again? This is usually the problem image

Did you get noobs on a microSD card with it? If not grab the image and follow the tutorial on the site to flash the card.  If you don't have a card you can get a cheap 8gb one to get going class 10 card. Or there is the option to buy the noobs pre-installed on a card as well.

If you have a card with noobs or berryboot I'd suggest unplugging the mouse and keyboard and hdmi and see if you get any different light pattern. Then power off plug in hdmi and try again go through the process of eliminating a possible bad cable or bad port.

Very quickly after applying power, the green led should show some activity. Keep an eye out for that, For diagnosing what is wrong it is important to know if it flashes quickly right after applying power or not.
