Hello all!
My name is Brandon Williams and for the past two years I've been a part of the Colorado Space Grant and Consortium's Robotics Competition. I've enjoyed working with robotics and wanted to do a different approach than all the other teams. To my knowledge, all the other teams used Arduino and I focused research into using a Raspberry Pi instead. The processing speed is significantly faster (60+ times faster than the Arduino Uno) and the data collection possibilities is limited by the size of your SD card.
My goal is to make a rover platform for other departments at my university can deploy their own projects upon and use the Pi to collect their data quickly and efficiently. I'm also currently using this project as a learning tool for two freshmen.
Would anyone be interested in observing this project as it evolves? I can include the rover itself as well as any learning material I've shared with my two team members. Let me know what you think or leave a feature suggestion.
Cheers!
