Pi Zero W instead of B+ for GPIO LCD Panel?

Per the recent-ish project on the podcast Ben and the gang created a GPIO-based Pi hack with the connectors removed. Would a similar configuration be feasible using a Pi Zero W? Most sites in the blogosphere seem to insist only composite video can be connected, but I have a 4.3" panel that I would like to use for a similar project (A dedicated jazz station radio). It appears that most of the connector is the same between the Pi B+ and the Zero, so if I use the same TFT breakout adaptor would that be successful?

Yah, a bunch of us who participated in the Hack Like Heck contest used Pi zero w's with the 40pin break out board. I had to add a pi zero w section to the dtblob file before compiling it, this tid bit of data was found on this page https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/pin-configuration.md

I also had to use mode 3 instead of mode 2 (used by Ben and the gang) so that I'd have access to two pwm pins for producing stereo audio, as per the documentation outlined on these two pages
